Ticket Details

Tickets will go on sale for students on 1/22 at 8:00 am at the Office for Student Involvement Ticket Window and be limited to students only for two weeks. Public on-sale will begin 2/11 online at Ticketmaster.com and at 313 box offices until sold out. 

313 will be taking $5/ticket for parking fees from students and public (new for Meadow Brook Amphitheatre as of 2019). The public will be charged an additional $5 for facilities fee. Ticket prices include and reflect these fees.

  • Posters will be delivered and hung up at colleges and universities within an hour radius of Oakland University including the following:
    • Wayne State
    • University of Detroit
    •  Michigan University
    • University of Michigan


  • Will be located on M-59 between 3/18 – 3/24 and I-75 between 3/25 – 3/31

  • Advertisements on Facebook and with Google Ads will appear 3/4 between 3/15 and 3/30 between 4/11

Facebook Event

  • The Facebook event, listed with Student Program Board (SPB) at Oakland University, 313, Live Nation, Blackbear, and SuperDuperKyle all as co-hosts of the event.
  • SPB will post updated and promotional posts as needed in the event. Blackbear and Kyle teams are encouraged to post in or share the event with their followers as well. 
  • All graphics or photos posted in the event are included for approval, same as assets listed below for approval. 

Leading up to Announcement

  • Urging students to attend Casino Night on 1/19 to be the first to hear about the artists performing at this year’s spring concert without any telling information of either KYLE or Blackbear. 
  • Any hints given via social media prior to 1/19 will be equal for KYLE and Blackbear. 

Get to know the artists

  • Post four facts of both KYLE and Blackbear, with corresponding images, videos and GIFs where applicable, promoting the artist, ticket and show information. 
  • These will be posted once per month per artist in January, February, March and April leading up for the show.

      • iSpy has had over half a billion streams on Spotify and is one of many collabs KYLE has done with artists such as Wiz Khalifa, Kehlani, Lil Yachty, G-Eazy, 2 Chainz, and many more.

      • He co-wrote “Boyfriend” with Justin Bieber, which debuted at number two on the Billboard Hot 100.
      • Blackbear was named Matthew Tyler Musto at birth
      • Blackbear’s new album, Anonymous, will be released on Friday, April 19th
      • Blackbear has collaborated with Childish Gambino, Billie Eilish, Mike Posner, Linkin Park, Pharrell Williams, Justin Bieber, G-Eazy, Miley Cyrus, and many others.

On-Campus Marketing


All print will be designed by Oakland University Communication and Marketing and sent to both Blackbear and KYLE managements for approval. Student Program Board will be meeting with them 1/21 to begin the process. 


  • Before 1/19 — Advertising the announcement at Casino Night will be dispersed around academic buildings, student center and to residence halls. The information included on posters will be where and when the announcement will take place, announcement during Eric Mina’s performance and student ticket on-sale information. Attached for approval.  
  • through 4/4 — Advertising the show information, ticket information and both KYLE and Blackbear (billed equally). Posters will be distributed through all academic buildings, student center and residence halls. Attached for approval.
  • After 4/4 — Including the name of the winner of Battle of the Bands and Kyle and Blackbear (billed equally). Will include show information and be distributed through academic buildings, student center and residence halls.

Table Tents

  • Tents will be placed in the Oakland Center and the two dining halls promoting the event after tickets go on sale. Tents will be out for a week. To be determined after talking to the Office of Student Involvement, Communication and Marketing and Housing. 


  • The banner will be hung in the Oakland Center for viewing of anyone who walks through. Information and style will look like the announcement poster. 


  • Handbills, a smaller version of the poster, will be made for the 1/22 poster and the 4/4 poster to be distributed during other programs, weekly Wednesday programs (Hump Days), and tables in the Oakland Center once per week. Events, where these will be distributed, are listed in the monthly breakdown. 


  • Large posters used in five (5) frames placed around campus, students, faculty and visitors see these on their walks from building to buildings around campus. These will be the same as the original announcement poster.

Announcement of both Kyle and Blackbear during a performance by Eric Mina (hypnotist and mentalist). We will be working with Mina to have a fun and interactive way to announce both artists to a large audience of students during the annual Casino Night. Prizes will be given out after the conclusion of Mina’s performance. 

**A giveaway package will be given out as a prize at Casino Night. The package will include two (2) pit tickets and two (2) pavilion tickets and four (4) meet and greets with KYLE and Blackbear.**

1/22 – Student Tickets On-Sale

Tickets will go on sale to students at the ticketing window of the Office of Student Involvement (OSI) at 8:00am. Students must have a valid OU ID, one (1) ticket per valid OU ID. 

1/24 – Tabling and Coffee House Mainstage

Push that student tickets on sale and how students can purchase their tickets if they haven’t already.

Last week students can purchase tickets with exclusivity. Big social media push all week as well. 

2/7 – Found Footage Mainstage

Last push for student ticket sales as the next day, Friday will be the last day they are available exclusively to students.

Local bands, must include minimum one current OU students will compete for a chance to open the concert. The show will take place in The Habitat, the Oakland Center mini-amphitheater with an anticipated attendance of 300+. Winner will be announced on Student Program Board social media accounts and new posters with the complete line up will be dispersed around campus and to residence halls later that week.

4/8 – Tabling 

Week of the concert, final marketing push for students and on-campus population. At tabling handing out glow sticks to remind students the concert is this upcoming Friday.

Ticket and Meet and Greet Giveaways

Meet and Greet Spots

  • Meet and Greets with Blackbear and KYLE will be with up to 30 students. Spots for these meet and greets will be given away via Casino Night, social media competitions and as prizes for other Student Program Board sponsored programs and activities. 
  • A list of students will be collected for each artist’s meet and greet and be coordinated with management, venue staff and a Student Program Board representatives to ensure organization. List of students participating in meet and greets can be shared with Blackbear and KYLE management as needed. 

Ticket Giveaways

  • 25 tickets will be given to WXOU, on-campus radio station, for promotion and to give away to listeners on a rolling basis. 
  • 4 tickets will be given away at Casino Night as prizes. 
  • We are working to provide metro Detroit, Grand Rapids, Flint, and Toledo markets radio stations with 25 pairs of tickets for giveaways to listeners max per market.
  • Tickets will also be given out on SPB social media in various contests and at all SPB affiliated events.
